I was thinking it would be cool to see Ralph Gilles and his team do a modern interpretation of the original Viper RT/10 3-spoke wheel.
What other famous wheels of the past would you like to see a “modern-day” version of?

I would say turbofan wheels.

I’ve always been a sucker for the BMW Type 65 wheels (E39 M5). I had a set on my 540iAT. Damn they looked sharp.

Would totally rock these on any car today

Too easy! The “blades” from the C4 Vette.
I do love those Viper wheels too tho.

I wondered who would be the first to mention these. I’d like to see what a new version would look like.

Those are aftermarket and are readily available from many manufacturers.

This would also require the car maker be brought back and that should be reason enough...

Nope. Those are the OE Gambler wheels

You’re cool, dog dishes are great. I’ve got the kind in the picture above, so even with my switch to mag wheels I’ll be using something with a round hole web (Draglite knockoffs) and with the web painted body color. It shouldn’t be hard to make the dog dishes stay with some VW hubcap clips added...

These weren’t side specific though right? So wheels on one side would be “pointing” the wrong way. That’s my big reservation with any wheel that isn’t symmetrical.

There are plenty of knockoffs/similars but those wheels are factory. The style is called “Gambler”.

I wholeheartedly endorse this car.

My ‘63 Ranchero will never be as clean as that guy’s coupe. It rightly deserves its place as a wikipedia image.

Rays 4/5 wheels. And yes, this is one set for one car.

Huh, shows how much I know about jeeps! Thanks for the info.
Out of curiosity, is there an easy way to tell the OEMs?

Love the ones on the new beetle, but not sure if they still offer them.

Been trying to engineer some moons for my Toyota. Came up with a combination of SHO centre caps trucker moons, and glue. Think I’ll find a set of Dakota 5-hole steelies, Old trucks need moons.
